Enrolment Procedures for ACT public schools
All new student enrolment applications for 2021 are now open.
Children entering school at the preschool entry point should be four years of age on or before 30 April in that year. For more information about Early Entry processes and Priority Enrolment Areas, please visit the Education Directorate website.
If you are enrolling your child to start school in 2021 or if your child is transferring to an ACT public school at any stage this year, you will need to use the online form. Supporting information is available through the parent / carer guide to enrolment / transfer for ACT public schools located on the 'Enrolling in an ACT Public School' section of the Education Directorate website.
Information for NSW residents applying for preschool in 2021
NSW families wishing to enrol in a Canberra Public School will now be offered a place at a selection of schools in either a southern or a northern zone in the ACT. For more information, please see the 'NSW Resident Enrolments' section of the Education Directorate's website.
All enrolment requests are stored electronically and sent to the first choice school. Decisions regarding offers of enrolment / transfer are made after the closing date. Applications for 2021 close 5:00pm 5 June 2020, offers of enrolment are sent to parents / carers. If the offer is accepted, parents / carers arrange to visit the school with relevant documentation as outlined in the online form.
