Enrolment Procedures for ACT Public Schools

Children entering school at the preschool entry point should be four years of age on or before 30 April in that year.

Enrolment for 2024

If you are enrolling your child to start school in 2024 or if your child is transferring to an ACT public school at any stage this year, you will need to use the online form. Supporting information is available through the parent / carer guide to enrolment / transfer for ACT public schools located on the 'Enrolling in an ACT Public School' section of the Education Directorate website.

Enrolment for 2025

If your child turns 4 years old before 30 April 2024 they are eligible for enrolment in an ACT Education Directorate Preschool.

It is important to note that the process to apply for enrolment will be through an online system.

Applications for Enrolment (for all year groups) are available online from the the Education Directorate website from Day 1 Term 2, 2024.

Information for NSW Residents

NSW families wishing to enrol in a Canberra Public School will now be offered a place at a selection of schools in either a southern or a northern zone in the ACT. For more information, please see the 'NSW Resident Enrolments' section of the Education Directorate's website.

All enrolment requests are stored electronically and sent to the first choice school. Decisions regarding offers of enrolment / transfer are made after the closing date.

If you have difficulty accessing a computer to complete the online enrolment form, please contact the school for assistance. A translator can be arranged should you require one. Please make an appointment with the school on 6142 0345.

Parents/carers are welcome to apply to enrol/transfer their child at any time during the school year using an online application form. Full details are available from the Education website.
